Cheap flights, accommodation and city breaks to Newcastle, UK
The history of the area is closely linked to Hadrian's Wall, which is a designated World Heritage Site, and is easily accessible from Newcastle. Centres such as the Discovery Museum, the Centre for Life, and the Beamish Open Air Museum in County Durham are great days out for the whole family, and bring history to life! Tours of the area along the River Tyne are also available and are a great way to see the city and some of the many historic buildings and parks within Newcastle and neighboring Gateshead. Another must-see attraction is the Blue Reef Aquarium in nearby Tyneside for underwater safari adventures.
The surrounding countryside and coastline are both ideal settings for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and sailing. As well as the North Pennines that border the city, there are many other rural days out for the whole family, such as the scenic Derwent Walk Country Park, and the 40-acre Alnwick Gardens which are just 45 minutes' drive from Newcastle. Within the city, you can still find quiet outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy the setting, such as Leaze Park in the city centre. Newcastle also boasts excellent shopping, with many large malls and centres throughout the city.
Newcastle has so much to offer you'll want to visit again and again!
