Map of Norway

Norway is a country packed full of stunning scenery. A long, skinny country, Norway shares much of its eastern border with Sweden, but also parts with Finland and Russia in the far north. On the western side, Norway meets the Norwegian Sea and Atlantic Ocean, giving rise to some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. As well as wonderfully unspoilt coastal scenery, Norway is also home to dramatic fjords, craggy mountains, vast forests and glittering lakes. With a long and often colourful history, you’ll find bustling cities full of interesting buildings, museums, art galleries, and of course plenty of shops. In the countryside you’ll find pretty villages of brightly coloured houses and friendly people offering a warm welcome, wherever you go.

In the south of the country, you’ll find the capital, Oslo, full of exciting things for the visitor to see and do. Oslo is a bustling city, small enough to explore on foot. Oslo has some famous landmarks that are well worth exploring, including the Holmekollen Ski Jump, complete with a museum illustrating the evolution of the sport.

Much of the north of Norway is located well-within the Arctic Circle, and experiences long, bright summer days, and near darkness in the winter months. This northern area is where you’ll find the Lofoten islands. The islands are dotted with traditional fishermans cabins and pretty villages, overshadowed by the dramatic mountains that appear to rise from the clear waters of the Atlantic. The Lofoten Islands are popular with artists, and you’ll find many galleries displaying their works.

Wherever you chose to go in Norway, the scenery is sure to be spectacular and the welcome warm.
